GTX275 No output from VGA

Not quite sure what's going on here but im pretty sure I've blown the output from the VGA connector on my MSI GTX275 Lightning. I have two displays: main one, hooked up to dvi is my dell digital monitor, and second is my large screen tv, connected to the VGA port. However, I have the VGA plug disconnected from back of tv for boot purposes, as if it were plugged in the card would default to it until windows starts, preventing me from seeing any of the boot process on the dell monitor.
So, earlier on, with the PC on and booted, I plugged the tv in to use it, and my main display went blank, and so was the tv. Anyway the upshot is, now even if I boot the pc up on the card's VGA socket with nothing else plugged in, I get a blank screen, nothing, although the monitor does wake up, so something must be getting through? The DVI output still works fine however. So, am I right, has the worst happened?
TIA.
