Possible problem with GTX 560Ti

    I've actually been reading some of the nVidia forums and there has been a bit of mentioning of the GTX 560 Ti Cards (I'm one of them). It seems to be sporadic and fairly spread out among the different manufacturers that the Fermi based cards are a bit flawed to a degree. While the more up to date drivers seem to be the culprit, there have been some reports about the 560 Ti cards still having the problem.

    I'm one of the people having the problem after running the card for several days which suggests it has some resource issues after a while. Some people also have linked the issue to running either IE or Firefox as both are GPU enabled browsers and seem to cause some problems as wel.

    It's a crapshoot with nVIDIA I think. Go all the way back to the 270.61 driver and try each WHQL forward, 4 I think. Use Driver Sweeper to uninstall the current driver before installing a new one, nVIDIA's clean install doesn't work. Link below my sig. After sweeping don't reboot or Windows update will start installing the 275.xx driver.

    It's not your PC, but I would disable the jusch and realschd services. I've removed Java from my system and I've had RealPlayer cause issues.

    Well, in actual fact I've swapped out the GTX 560Ti now and the computer continues to crash with the ATI 5850. So far I've tried all manner of stress tests, I've changed the memory and I've changed the graphics card, but none of those have got me closer to finding what the problem is.

    Do you think I should just RMA a bunch of components now? I'm thinking the motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, and possibly the hard drive(?). Is it worth installing a clean copy of Windows 7? This might take several hours because of all the applications that I'd have to install again...

    Thanks for the suggestions so far. This computer's driving me insane!

    Does the computer have a different 16x pcie slot even if it's only a 8x it would eliminate a possible bad slot....also check for any dust/trash in the slot.

    Have you run a sfc scan?

    If the system has onboard graphics try them (or a old low power draw card)...then try them with a different psu....

    I would try a repair instal before a clean instal, but a repair instal could lead to a clean instal....if something should go wrong....

    I've narrowed the problem down to being either a software or a hard drive issue. I installed a copy of Windows 7 on a second hard drive and tested on that by playing games for about an hour. It worked! I've also changed the interface of the original hard drive from SATA III to SATA II which I hope will solve the issue on that since I don't want to deal with a complete reinstall of Windows. I'm yet to test it.
