Radeon 9250 128mb video card not working

Please help out a fellow windows 7 owner. I did a clean install to my old computer
    Specs:
    Build date 2005
    Model HP a1120n
    Intel P4
    4Gb Ram
    200gb data
    OS: 7 Ultimate 64bit

I did a search all over the internet and tried many drivers and still I can't get it to work. Right now my video card is installed and using the vga and dvi of the new card. I check my device manager I see a yellow quotation mark on my "Video Controller"

Try the 9.7 Catalyst driver/suite first. Due to it's age, that card is considered a legacy card. Not all Catalyst driver version support leagcy cards.

    From here:
    ATI Radeon 9250 drivers

I assume you're aware you still won't get aero or 'fancy' effects due to the 128MB limitation?

Not sure what they're trying to pull at that link smarteyeball posted as there are no Windows 7 drivers for the 9250 (or Vista for that matter), as AMD/ATI never made one. The last official driver for that card is the Catalyst 6.11 XP driver,

    Catalyst

May have to use compatibility mode,

    Compatibility Mode

    to get it to install.

Actually nothing to due with the amount or memory on the card (128 MB is the minimum). It is due to the card only being DirectX 8.1, where Aero requires a minimum of DirectX 9.

Edit: just downloaded that file DriversCollection has and they really are playing with things. Checked the INF and there is zero reference to the 9250 (or any card made prior to the HD 2xxx series, so it won't even install.

For ATI/AMD cards there are 3 options for Windows 7 drivers,

    1. Anything from the HD 2xxx series and up can use whatever is current (Catalyst 11.11 at this time).

    2. Radeon 9500 up to the Radeon X1950 XTX, can use the last Vista legacy driver,

    32 bit - ATI Catalyst

    64 bit -http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx

    3. Anything below the 9500, which is anything from the 9250 and down, can only use the above mentioned Catalyst 6.11 XP driver.

Thank you guys for the info but i just had to return my Radeon 9250 and buy this VCG84512D3SPPB GeForce 840 at BHphotovideo.com. This card is Windows 7 compatible and should just plug and play any thoughts?

It should. You can also if so inclined or desired install the latest directly from Nvidia for it,
