CCC (Catalyst Control Center) Won't Start - How To

So, I've searched Google for hours and hours for a solution, tried everything people suggested but none of them worked for me, so I activated Super Geek Mode and went all out to uncover the mystery by myself, fortunately enough I did and thought I would share it with you guys in case somebody needs it.

Just fallow the steps bellow and you'll most likely get your CCC working again:

    Step 1:
Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall CCC and everything else with the provided ATI Catalyst Install Manager.

    Step 2:
    Reboot in Safe Mode.

    Step 3:
Run Driver Sweeper and select the AMD box, Analyze, then Clean, make sure you have all the boxes checked.

    Step 4:
Reboot again and Reinstall Catalyst Software Suite, ensure that it's the latest version, after the installation's been completed reboot once again.

    Step 5:
Go to Start > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on and off, check Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and finally, restart Windows for the last time.

    Done!!

I've already written up a more effective method here.

Nothing personal but without removing the bad policies, the fix will only work for about 40% of users.

Did you even read my post? I bet you didn't, 'cause then you'd know that is not the same fix as the one I've described here, not even the same problem, totally different thing. Just to clarify, Step 1 to 4 are just for precaution (just in case) and are actually optional, what really resolves the problem is Step 5, in other words CCC needs MS .NET Framework 3.5.1 in order to run and function properly, but in some computers it gets disabled for some reason, so you have to re-enable it.

    Thanks for your input though..

still sounds like pretty much the identical problem to me, either way it doesn't really matter I suppose.
One of the two should work for just about any situation.

    Nice work!

Thanks for the notes. Driver Sweeper was the key for me. None of the other suggestions (windows\assembly), CCleaner, etc were any good. They didn't address the root cause of bad drivers stuck in my system. The next time I'm in the market for a video card, Nvidia gets the nod for me.

Don't be too quick to go that way, this kind of problem affects both companies about equally.
I currently have a 5850 from ati and a gtx580 myself that have given no problems at all. The cards/drivers before however were both nightmares.
I mean admittedly the gtx580 is a better card, but it's a top tier performance model and the 5850 is more of a upper-mid range gamer's card. Regardless either one will run anything on the market.

    updating always painful

Why is this something that can't be resolved from the manufacturer? It seems as though every single driver update is painful and a fight to get all 3 monitors working again and CCC to cooperate. I never had these problems with nVidia. I'm aware of the comment of similar problems between both providers. I personally have never experienced a problem with nVidia. These cards on the other hand...very annoyed. EVERY SINGLE TIME it's a painful process that costs me time they should be billed for.

I'm sorry your experience has been so bad, since I have personally never dealt with more than two monitors on my system it's not really come up.

I can say that my ati 5850 that I had when I wrote my fix for this (linked up above) as well as the gtx580 I have now operate practically the same in every way. With some positives going to the gtx580 mostly just because it's a beefier card.
I will say I have not experienced a driver issue like this with nvidia. I have had driver/software issues with them but nothing that required this kind of ordeal to correct.

Where is the option to sort by "Public Key Token?" I don't see this anywhere.
