(Radeon HD 6850 x 2) WEI score decline after windows reinstall.

Hi,

Before I start I will post my PC specs.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
PSU: Antec 620w
MOBO: GIGABYTE UD5 AM3+
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955
RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb 4x4gb
GPU: 2x Radeon HD 6850

Some heatsinks thrown in here and there... and like 5 fans inside the case.

Issue:

Before I reinstalled windows my WEI for my gpu was 7.0, after reinstalling though it was 6.0 (this is after installing all required drivers etc..)

Am I insane, does this effect performance in any way?
thanks in advance.

try going to (c:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore) and deleting the files in there. after that run the WEI
again and see if that helps.

Before deleting any system files (files created by Windows) right up front try clearing the experience index scores and re-run the test.

Here's how.....

Start, Control Panel, Performance Information and Tools, in the left pane click Advanced tools and then click Clear all Windows Experience socre and re-rate the system.

If the score doesn't improve, reinstall the drivers, restart the system, run the assessment tool again.

Good luck

Yeah you can go deleting files, but I prefer trying Microsoft's recommended method first.

@ MIGHTYBOJANGLES, not sure what's going one with your system and why you can't get your scores back up. When you reinstalled Windows did you reinstall all the drivers for your motherboard?

I re installed all the drivers and had them updated. Still no difference. I am going to re install windows to see if this makes a difference.

So I guess it was something from my install. Also thanks to those who were kind enough to add their advice.
