    Upgrading video card

We just had our PC fixed by replacing the motherboard as well as its RAM with new one while retaining the still useful parts. Then I realized the video card that's been inside has been getting dated in terms of functionality for gaming. I have a Nvidia Geforce 9500GT 1024 Mb installed in this PC and I'm thinking of replacing it with a better performing video card for games. Can anyone recommend me a good alternative to this video card but is better in terms of gaming functions? How much would such a video card costs? I don't really care whether the video card is branded or generic as long as its durable. .

to fully answer your question we need at least two more pieces of info:

    1. what's your approx budget?
    2. how big is your PSU? (more powerful gfx cards need more wattage)

Gwt a Sapphire Radeon HD 6xxx 2GB series they are damn cheap and damn good, £50 for my one, and it somes with brackets, and hdmi port, really good, requires no external power, and still manages to run GTA4 full settings, (and your psu only needs to be 400+W)

Considering I'm neither from Europe, UK, nor US, if the money is converted into $, then I'd have around $80 budget for it. But I'm still considering a rather cheap but quality video card in placement of what this PC already has.

Looking into the CPU case, the PC has a Techwill PSU Model P4-500 Watts. .

How does the card fares with the games like The Witcher 2 and Battlefield 3? How many FPS does the card performs with those games?

I'm not really into those games much, but am basing a video card's performance based on those two mentioned games; they're not the most graphics-intensive games there are though.

Don't know about witcher2 But the witcher ee managed a fair 50 to 70 fps On my spec, don't know about bf3 either But nfs hot pursuit did let me complete the whole game without a single lag or freeze,

Ok, thanks. I'll consider that. Apparently, having a PC fixed can be troublesome at times lol especially now that there's another pressing issue regarding the PC itself >____<. The CPU cooling fan stopped spinning all of a sudden of which raises another problem as to whether it's just a mere faulty setting or a faulty hardware itself.

For BF3 a 6570might be OK at a mix of medium and low, but I wouldn't expect much more than that from it. To get an idea how various cards perform,

As for that PSU you have, got a proper name and model number for it? Techwill doesn't return much of anything, which doesn't install much confidence in what it is actually capable of.

Well I understand what you mean. Apparently, those are what is written on the sticker beside the PSU itself. I'm obviously a noob in terms of computer hardware and stuff lol.

Does the label show the amps for the 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails?

    Edit: Is this it,

12A on the 12V rail. If so I wouldn't trust that thing to power a light bulb, never mind a computer. It may say it is a 500W power supply on the label, but it is more like a 250W (if that) looking at the specs on it.
