Sapphire Radeon HD 3450 AGP driver problem

Hi all, (sorry for my bad english!)
i installed Windows 7 Professional 32bit on this computer:

Motherboard: ASUSTeK P4S8X (PGA 478)
RAM: 2 GB DDR
CPU: Intel Pentium IV Northwood @2,53 Ghz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 3450 512MB DDR2 (AGP)

My GPU is compatible with Aero, why I can't use it? I tried to install all windows drivers, but it doesn't work...

i installed the agp driver and now i founded a correct GPU driver (i think). I installed it, but when I start my computer i get a blue screen after "starting windows" logo..... then computer shut down and reboot...

I restored the system and now Windows recognize the GPU like a "VGA Standard Graphic Controller"!

Unfortunately that is one of the things that can happen when you try and run a modern OS on ancient (in computer terms) hardware, sometimes it will work no problem and others what has happened in your case. The only bit in that old computer that is really Windows compatible is the video card, unfortunately the interface that it uses (AGP) is not really supported anymore and really hit and miss as to whether it work properly or not.

Without a working AGP driver (part of the chipset and not part of the video card driver) you cannot get the video card driver to install. I have had success using the method I linked to with a similar SiS based motherboard and an even old 9800 Pro.

This may just be one of those where it is better to stick with XP on the old computer.
