Intel GMA 4500MHD Crashing Randomly Mmm seem to be a magnet for problems lately.. Starting to get annoying actually.
Anyways.. whenever I play a game called 'RuneScape' my graphics randomly crashes, its a CPU Intensive game but not graphic intensive. If it helps I have all my drivers up-to-date, and here is the stuff 'View Reliability History' gave me for information. Code: Description
A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly.

im also using intel 4500mhd and it can run MUCH better games.... so i dont know wat happened with ur drivers. Maybe the drivers are corrupted?
since windows 7 is still in beta mode, I suppose when you installed it, that you would expect to do the custom installation many times over
I would download windows 7 build 7600 (rtm build) from torrents and completely reinstall windows.Reinstall the driver and everything.
Another possibility is that you can download the driver directy from intel.com and replace your current driver. Windows update can be buggy sometimes.... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 8000/HP G70 258US OS Windows 7 64 bit build 7600 CPU Intel Core i5 750/Intel Pentium Duo T4200 2.00 ghz Memory 6 gig/4 gig Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350/Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD Sound Card Realtek/Conexant Smartaudio High Definition Device Monitor(s) Displays Two Screen Resolution 1920x1080/1440x900 Hard Drives 750/250 gig Internet Speed 24 mb |

I have been using Windows 7 RC (build 7100, x64) and this is about my.. 8th reinstall. I got the drivers directly from Intel's website. It only does this when I play a java/browser-based game called RuneScape. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom | Whitebox OS Windows 7 Ultimate, OS X 10.7, Ubuntu 11.04 CPU Intel E6750 @ 3.80GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L (Revision 1.1) Memory 2x2GB & 2x1GB (6GB) OCZ Reaper 1066MHz @ 1080MHz Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GTX 260 896mb (216 Core) FTW Edition Sound Card Realtek ALC888 Monitor(s) Displays 21" VIZIO TV Screen Resolution 1680x1050 @ 60Hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless S520 Mouse Logitech Wireless S520 - Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse PSU Corsair 750W Case NZXT Nemesis Elite Cooling Thermaltake SpinQ Hard Drives Western Digital WD6401AALS - 640GB

It does it with Firefox (3.5.1/3.5.2) and Chrome (3.0.197 Dev Build), haven't tested it on other browsers because its so random, I'd be waiting forever. lol | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom | Whitebox OS Windows 7 Ultimate, OS X 10.7, Ubuntu 11.04 CPU Intel E6750 @ 3.80GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L (Revision 1.1) Memory 2x2GB & 2x1GB (6GB) OCZ Reaper 1066MHz @ 1080MHz Graphics Card EVGA nVidia GTX 260 896mb (216 Core) FTW Edition Sound Card Realtek ALC888 Monitor(s) Displays 21" VIZIO TV Screen Resolution 1680x1050 @ 60Hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless S520 Mouse Logitech Wireless S520 - Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse PSU Corsair 750W Case NZXT Nemesis Elite Cooling Thermaltake SpinQ Hard Drives Western Digital WD6401AALS - 640GB

the best thing i can advise is try different versions of drivers (that includes the vista and 7 ones, i should better say to try both wddm 1.0 and wddm 1.1) and see which one of these latest drivers dont cause a problem...
sometimes new = bugs (just look at ati and nvidia for a example... )... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Tx2500z Tablet Pc/Homemade Server OS Windows 7 Ult x64(x2), HomePrem x32(x4), Server 08 (+VM), 08 R2 (VM) , SuSe 11.2 (VM), XP 32 (VM) CPU Turion X2 ultra (oh well came with laptop)/P4 @3.2 (yes P4) Motherboard IDK HP Motherboard / Intel DG965SS Memory OCZ Dual Channel 4GB kit/ 1gb Dual Channel Graphics Card HD 3200 graphics /GMA x3100 (yay for intergrated!!) While yes, this is a Win 7 issue. It is not a specific Win 7 issue. It is a driver issue with Win 7. They (Being Intel) have not fixed the issue. And it is quite friggin annoying.
I get the problem when I reboot my laptop. Seems to be fine most of the time when I just shutdown and start up again.
I have the Intel Graphics Media HD (Core i5) and it's the same file X64_0x117_Tdr:2_IMAGE_igdkmd64.sys
It's a driver issue,, and most of the time,, when it crashes,, it mentions something about XP.
I think they took existing XP drivers and just tweaked them slightly and said "here, they work!" but, kthey work half assed. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Win 7 Ultimate 32bit CPU C2D E6600 2.4Ghz Motherboard Intel D965WH Memory 4G Kingston KHX5400D2 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 HD SC (012-P3-1573-KR) Sound Card On-Board Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 226BW Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 PSU Corsair TX750W Case In-Win C589 Cooling Stock Intel Cooling Hard Drives 2 x 250 Seagate Barracuda
