The only other thing I need is the blue monitor cable (the one I used was for the family desktop) any idea where I can get them?

I don't know if there is a PC World, Comet, Argos or Currys in the US, but I need this ASAP to see if it works, so I would have to go to the actual shop and buy it do you think they would sell the blue cable and DVI to VGA cable (if not, where in the UK can I get one?

Yeah.

With that 9.18 pound cable, you don't need the separate adapter. It is male on both ends.
