Why then would Intel say that Win 7 is not supported ?
which they clearly do.
It isn't on any of their chipsets or graphics prior to the 945G. Anything before that has to use either whatever Windows 7 decides to install as default (which is just enough to allow it to work), or use the last XP driver.
The simple fact is that for all chipsets/graphics before the 945 has declared them "end of life", and have dropped any and all support for them.
