    Acer Aspire 5920 touchpad drivers?

    hi,

I am about to install Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 5920 but don't know if the touchpad drivers will work on Win7. I know that the touchpad will work but worried about the scroll down/up feature of the touchpad. Which you can only make work with Acer software, but they don't support Win7 right now!

    Anyone please help!

    Good to hear. :)

For future reference, if Windows 7 drivers are not yet available for certain hardware, then Vista drivers will work the vast majority of the time, as the driver models for Vista and 7 are very similar.

You can download just about all the drivers from the acer website.

Hi, sorry to bump an old thread but didnt see the next to create a new one for the same problem. I updated from vista 64 bit ultimate to w7 64 bit ultimate and when I try to install the touch pad drivers for vista I get a message saying could not find OS specific setup program. Also when trying to install the empowering technology driver I get a message saying, unsupported operating system.

Has anyone come acvross a solution for these problems?

    Thanks, Chris

    What version have you got?

Try and install this and see if it works.

Thanks itworked no problem. I never even thought of going to synaptics site. Sorry to be a pain but is there a seperate driver for the multimedia buttons on the right hand side? I thought they were done by the mouse pad driver?

I you can enable them and configure them in the synaptic options.

Hi, I had the same problem and have just solved it myself. First uninstall the drivers from the synaptics website. Download the Vistax64 drivers from the acer website and extract them. Open the WinWDF folder, then x64, and double click on the setup file there. This worked for me and the media buttons work fine now.

    Hope this helps, Jon
