Can a PC run at 240HZ?

I have recently acquired a 3D sony PS3 monitor model CECH-ZED1U. This monitor can do 240HZ. Can my computer run at 240HZ? I can't seem to increse the refresh rate past 60HZ. Mouse movements and media video look slower too, does that have to do with the refresh rate as well?

Have you read up on it properly?

sony - 3D Vision Blog

"You should be aware of the fact that when using HDMI 1.4 for stereo 3D content you are limited to 720p 50/60Hz 3D mode intended for gaming and 1080p 24Hz 3D mode intended for movies..."

I read your blog, My problem is, when I plug this T.V into my PC via HDMI I notice that there is a slight jigger or lag in videos, games, and windows systems, like the mouse, all feel slow. My older LCD Monitor can preform better and it's limited only to 60HZ. Speaking of Hz. My Nvidia panel says that refresh rate is 60HZ and it will not go higher to 240Hz or even 120HZ.

Where are you being told that the device can handle a refresh rate of 240Hz?

I'm pretty sure HDMi limitations make this an impossibility, even if there were graphic accelerators to match...

Are you displaying both monitors? If you are that could be the problem. Try one & turn the other off. If you already are then don't know.

I am pretty sure that that monitor does 240hz internally, it doesn't accept a 240hz signal.

The image you see is broadcast at 240hz but the input source is not.
It does some internal magic.
