Can a Radeon 9250 card work in W7?

Is it possible to get a Radeon 9250 card to work in W7?

I've searched. There are no "official" drivers for W7.

One of my small business clients has five pc's with this card, and he'd like to come up to W7.

Check the Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility Center for any compatibility issues.

    You could try these:

    http://www.dmmdownload.com/downloads...32_Ver_6_2.zip

I doubt that any real Windows 7 drivers for the 9250 cards exist, but the cards may work under Windows 7 with XP drivers. (No Aero Glass effects.)

If your client wants the full Win7 experience, the 9250s would have to be replaced with newer cards. If the PCs use AGP or PCI graphics, there are still low-end cards available that support 7. Unfortunately, they're rather more expensive than PCI-Express cards. (PCI and PCI-E are entirely different, and physically incompatible.)

There isn't. In fact that download you linked to is nothing more than the last XP driver for it, just renamed to include Windows 7 in the file name.

They do as long as if they are AGP cards, either the default Windows AGP driver or the last XP driver cooperate and allow the driver to install.

Not sure what thet're up to at that download site, but every single driver they have listed as being for the 9250 and windows 7 is bull. For starters there is zero support for any card made before the HD 2xxx series in them, so they will not install. Also it is kind of hard for anywhere to have a Windows 7 driver for that card when ATI/AMD never made one.

pscowboy as said in the link posted by Lemur and by bobkn and myself, the only driver available for that card is the last XP driver (Catalyst 6.11), which you can get directly from AMD,

Worked on it last night, and got this card to work. Showed it off this morning.

    The download I used was:
    vista_ati_radeon_xddm_614106606.zip

It's the driver only; 2.68mb; extracts to 6.0mb; there is no setup.exe; there is an inf.

Go into Device Manager - Update Driver - and direct D/M to the pci_ven subfolder.
After it installs, reboot - and voila! In parentheses next to RADEON 9250 is (Microsoft Corporation-XDDM); driver version is 6.14.10.6606; driver date is 8/15/2006.

Full screen, stable, no BSOD's on shutdown. Stuttery on YouTube which suits the boss just fine. Runs all his apps. Able to surf the net okay (again, no videos). In his office environment, it's good enough.

On my Google search, I came across some Vistaheads that found this (or modded it) and got it to run successfully. Type it in to the search bar; I believe it was the first listing that had it - **************. The 4shared site claimed that M/S made them remove it.
