Have you run some canned air through the machine recently?

With the purchase of a laptop I all ways recommend a laptop cooler to go with it. As Ivan the SoSo suggested with the can or compressed air, if the laptop is the main or primary PC, I suggest that you blow out the laptop at least every two weeks. It makes a world of difference.

Use ctrl alt delete...this will bring up a screen, select task manager. With that window open, the first 3 tabs (applications, services, processes) will show you whats running.

There are several programs that will help determine temps for all components in your system. There is one benchmark tool that will let you see the worst case scenario.

    Temp Readers:
Speedfan (I prefer this on my desktop as I can control fan speeds)
    HWmonitor

    Benchmark Tool:
    Furmark (Spectacular Tool)

just double click anywhere in the border to return to normal.
