A KVM switch connects two VGA cables to two monitors on one side of itself, whilst on the primary side of the switch it has a single VGA cable fed from a graphics card... so at the flick of the switch you can select VGA to your screen, or VGA to your TV...
There are a selection on Canada's Amazon website... | My System Specs |

Huh, that sounds like exactly what I need. Do you have a recommendation, or is a switch a switch, basically? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Graphics Card GeForce GTS 250 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 22 inch LED widescreen |

Can't really recommend as I've been off VGA for years, and the products in Canada will not match those I could necessarily obtain here in the UK... however you must remember you may require a switch which incorporates audio switching too... not only Amazon offer them, so will eBay, and if you have Tandy, Radiospares, Radioshack, RS Components, etc, etc, in your locale then you may be able to buy over the counter... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Lenovo USB laser "Thinkpad" Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Crucial M4 SSD, archives on twin Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX, 2TB, 7200rpm HDD's, Samsung Ritemaster CD/DVD Burner... No, if the audio outputs through my headphones, I am okay with that. I just need the video. I'm hitting up a plaza with a Source (they bought Radio Shack and changed them to that) tomorrow so I may have to look into it and see what they have. Thanks. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Graphics Card GeForce GTS 250 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 22 inch LED widescreen |

Somebody else had this problem recently it turned out he had the HDMI plugged into his onboard graphics instead of his PCI-e card, your not making this mistake as well? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz (3.77GHz OC) Motherboard Asus P5Q-E Memory Corsair 4GB DDR2 (4x1GB CM2X1024-6400C4) Graphics Card Palit GeForce GTS 250 (1024MB) Sound Card On Board (ADI AD2000B 8ch HD) Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 32in LCD TV Screen Resolution 1360x768 Keyboard Logitech MX5000 Laser (Combo) Mouse Logitech MX5000 Laser (Combo) PSU 550W Antec Neo HE 550 Case Antec P180 Cooling Xigmatex Red Scorpion CPU Cooler. 3x120mm Fans Hard Drives 2 x 1TB Samsung 103SJ (Raid0)

I don't think so, there's an HDMI port on the back of the computer. Unfortunately that is all I know, I am not good enough to open it up and tinker with it. All I know is HDMI port on back of computer = HDMI plug in. lol. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Graphics Card GeForce GTS 250 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 22 inch LED widescreen System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz (3.77GHz OC) Motherboard Asus P5Q-E Memory Corsair 4GB DDR2 (4x1GB CM2X1024-6400C4) Graphics Card Palit GeForce GTS 250 (1024MB) Sound Card On Board (ADI AD2000B 8ch HD) Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 32in LCD TV Screen Resolution 1360x768 Keyboard Logitech MX5000 Laser (Combo) Mouse Logitech MX5000 Laser (Combo) PSU 550W Antec Neo HE 550 Case Antec P180 Cooling Xigmatex Red Scorpion CPU Cooler. 3x120mm Fans Hard Drives 2 x 1TB Samsung 103SJ (Raid0)

It looks like I have a DVI port above my HDMI port, if I got a DVI-to-HDMI adapter would that work the way I want it to? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Graphics Card GeForce GTS 250 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 22 inch LED widescreen |

Please post a photograph of the rear of your PC because none of this is making sense and you haven't listed your motherboard in your system specifications - if you are making a mistake and the HDMI port is a motherboard based one then just whip out the graphics card, and attempt making it work afresh. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Lenovo USB laser "Thinkpad" Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Crucial M4 SSD, archives on twin Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX, 2TB, 7200rpm HDD's, Samsung Ritemaster CD/DVD Burner... I don't know what my motherboard is... lol. sorry. I just use computers, I don't know the technical details.
Here's the back of my computer. http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_2001.jpg
There's three used USB ports, an HDMI port, a DVI port, and what I think is a VGA. For whatever odd reason it does not work, there is another near the bottom that isn't pictured that does work. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Graphics Card GeForce GTS 250 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 22 inch LED widescreen PC to TV through HDMI cable, PC refuses to detect TV problems?
