All users of drivers 186.xx and up should disable the NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service because it is the cause of some memory leaks and crashes.
Even the beta versions are affected with this bug, but nVidia says that it will fix this bug "sometime this month".
Howdy and welcome to the forums

There was a driver update from NVidia last Thursday fixing these issues

It seems that i didnt spot the fix for this.
Are you talking about beta drivers cause all i see are the 190.38 drivers?

EDIT: I cant even find the driver update...

I didn't see any newer drivers other than 190.38...which caused issues with my EVGA 9800GT+. (namely, during gaming my video card fan would spin up and then would never spin back down on it's own once the card cooled down). Since the rest of my box is very quiet, this was extremely noticeable. I've gone back to the previous 186 drivers and everything there has been fine.

Yes actually i have the same issue but its due to the fact that the gfx
correct its rpm of fan equal to the % of occupation-infact it should measure the temp and then adjust the fan.

I'm not really sure what you are trying to say. Even when I finish my game and my machine has sat idle for 10-15 minutes my fans are still running at 70% on my video card...versus the previous driver experiences where after about 2-3 minutes my box was down to 35% on the fan which is almost unnoticeable.

Ok, then that means its a driver issue...but the second I enter a newer game it sounds like a leafblower, and when i exit it stops, i check the tempts and they are about 1 C up.

Conclusion: it blows with no real reason!

Gotcha. I found the problem on the Nvidia forums after I had posted on the eVGA boards trying to come to a reason why my card was doing this. Once I get my final copy of Windows 7 in Oct, I'll reload the OS and use the newest drivers then and see what happens. For now, the 186 drivers are working quite nicely and I'll just leave well enough alone.

This is strange because I'm running the 190.38 and the steroscopic 3D is turned off by default. Having no problems at all with mine.

You mean the service is disabled?
That is strange...People with the service on should get ther memory consuption
slightly going up at the coarse of time...especially if you dont turn off your comp
regularly (possibly causing memory overflow and BSOD)
