Want to Try HDMI

I have perfectly satisfactory, for me, display setup. A Samsung B2330 SyncMaster and an ATI Radeon HD 2400 graphics card. There as been a bit more than just a little discussion in these forums of moving from SVGA to DVI or HDMI. The Radeon has a HDMI output and I wonder if it would be worth the trouble of moving my HDMI cable from my TV and then crawling under the desk to hook it to the card just to see if there would be any noticeable change? I'm not into gaming a watch very few videos and those come from the various news sources such a CNN, Fox and USA today/ Most of my use is in Office 2010 Excel and Outlook, Quicken and, of course, browsing the web with Firefox.

No big deal -- just curious.

Thank you.

VGA is an analog signal, while HDMI is an uncompressed digital signal. The HDMI signal is going to be a much better quality.

Go for it!

Digitial does provide a clearer picture, but not fiddling with TV's / crawling under desks trouble worthy.

But it depends on just how curious you are as to whether it's worth it

Well, my curiosity got the best of me. After hooking up the HDMI cable my aging knees and back complained but my eyes shouted a big THANK YOU.

Now it's my mind's turn to say thank you.

Glad you like it. NOW, go ahead and order Netflix and watch that high quality digital picture.
