Win7 Aero - Windows have a choppy "delay" when opening?

    Hello,

Is anyone else seeing a strange (but very very quick) choppy kind of lag when a opening any dialog or window in Win7 RTM.

I used to be in the "turn off animations" crowd during the Vista phase but I decided to let Aero go full on in the RTM of Win 7.

Immediately after the install was done - I started to notice this bizarre choppy display. Another user in another thread described it best - right at the last nanosecond when the window "draw" completes - it seems like its trying to "snap to" an invisible grid or something.

It happens on a trio of eVGA crads over here - 2 8600GTS and one 8600GT. The same cards within Vista (32/64) perform perfectly with a smooth open/close and no discernible lag.

So - am I seeing things or is this happening on others systems?

Appreciate any updates that anyone has.

    Cheers!

Clean. Low level format and all. I have done 32 bit and 64 bit - on three different machines....same result. Must be by design or perhaps my 11 month old graphics cards are just not up to the task? If I simply turn off "animate windows when opening and closing" - of course - it goes away.

Mind you - with all the driver problems nVidia has had lately - I have no idea what the most solid and reliable driver of the last 12 months is. Every release in the last 6 months have had some sort of annoying issues...especially the most recent 190.38...

Just know that this is very subtle but definitely noticeable and it's not smooth like Vista SP2 (on the exact same hardware).

    Cheers!

    That doesn't do anything.
