Windows 7 - HDMI with just one Monitor

| | HDMI with just one Monitor I connected my computer to the monitor using the HDMI cable, but the screen went black/blank, I am under impression that HDMI is for TV or a second monitor! However my friends tells me HDMI is just new generation of graphic connection, and replace the older cables, and I have to set up my computer and drivers properly! I have tried everything, but still get the black screen , when using DVI everything works well! Any idea what to do? |

| | The only difference between DVI and HDMI is that HDMI carries the sound. It's a full audio/video cable in one. |

| | Hi there thanks to all of you, the problem was that the monitor came with HDMI cable only but its default was not auto switch to HDMI/DVI , I checked the menu and the default was DVI, wonder why they do that at the factory! After all one has to get a DVI cable and connect the monitor then switch to HDMI then use the cable! Once again thank you for you help! Very much appreciated! |
