3 Monitors - duplicate or not? ATI HD Radeon 5670

Hi!

I'm going to purchase a third monitor quite soon and there are just a few things I'd like to know.

My HD Radeon 5670 has HDMI/VGA/DVI so to my understanding I won't be able to run 3 monitors extended unless I get a monitor with displayport and get an adapter for it?

Though from what I read here:
How to Get 3 Monitors to Work | eHow.com
It says that you can use 3 monitors if you have a dedicated GPU. I tried googling around what exactly this is, but to no avail. I have an Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard, does this have a dedicated GPU and thus allows me to have 3 monitors with extended displays?

One of my monitors is a TV, so it's not 100% necessary to be 3 monitors though I would prefer that. So what I also wonder is, is it possible to just copy 2 monitors and have 1 standalone?
So like, my primary monitor and my TV = duplicate and my second monitor extended?

Thanks for your help in advance!

It should work with out a adapter. Not a 100% sure if it would work but since it has 3 ports on the card then it should work.

No it doesn't, so that option is out. That and unless it is supported in the bios, most will auto-disable the onboard video when a video card is detected.

You also will not be able to run 3 monitors off of your 5670 unless it has a displayport on it. If it doesn't then you are limited to 2 monitors using one of the following combos,

DVI and VGA
DVI and HDMI
VGA and HDMI - this one likely won't work

Would help to know exactly which HD 5670 you have (manufacturer and model number).

No you will not be able to run Eyefinity unless you are running with a 5670 that is a special version you will need atleast 3 ports which one of em is a Displayport/Mini-Displayport. Also i would not reccomend running Eyefinity or even 3 screens unless you have a quite high Video Memory.

If you would run the 5670 as the secoundary graphic card with a higer model as the main card you would still be able to do it. Though read it thru properly since it can be quite complicated to connect them and get them to work properly.
