nvscpaisvr.exe process eating ram

hi, sorry if this is not the right place to post.

task manager lists this process, nvscpaisvr.exe, 'stereo vision control panel api server', (c) nvidia corp. currently it's got hold of about 300 000 k of ram and i havent seen it before. after restart it starts at about 30.000 but rapidly grows

file's said to have been created 9 feb, day before yesterday. i havent updated any graphic drivers in a long time (^^). installed some casual game that day but dont see how it could've gone to this.

i have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphic card

thanks for any input on this

annalo, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Start with opening Programs and Features, locate the Nvidia drivers entry and select to uninstall. There should be a new window open up with a list of what Nvidia drivers/software is installed with two options for uninstalling, everything or custom; select Custom and uninstall only the Nvidia 3D driver/software.

Hope it gave the option for a custom install and let you pick and choose which parts of the driver package to install, as unless things have changed you just installed (or re-installed if it is the same driver as what you had before) the 3D driver again.

Nvidia for quite a while now has been including the 3D Vision driver, Physx software, and the video driver all in one package that wil, install all of them unless you tell it not too. Doesn't make much sense if you don't have Nvidia's 3D Vision kit (glasses, etc) or a monitor/display capable of running 3D.
