I dont have a preference. i chop and change brand when a card stands out with performance, but has a decent price to match.

Im currently running an XFX 6950 2gb. and cannot fault it. You do need the 2gb ram when playing bf3! as it gets to and over 1gb occasionally.

But ive had many NVidia cards also, but for me the 6950 stood out above the 560 and is similar in performance to the more expensive 570.

plus many 6950's can be unlocked to perform as a 6970 which is also a bonus. (only the 2gb versions can, the 1gb versions use a different reference board so doesnt have the same number of stream processors)

I am using a XFX 5870 and I constantly have little green pixels that randomly appear on my screen when I card is idle. Whenever I'm gaming the green pixels go away. I made a promise to myself that I would never go with a XFX card again. Do you have the green pixel problem as well?

It is really depends on the budget and whether the card is a reference or OC version tho.

about the green artifacts, did you happen to OC it because if you set it at unstable clocks it does that

i have no issues with my XFX card. things do and can go wrong with cards. I had my old BFG 8800gts go bang after only a few weeks, but got it RMA'd and replaced with a faster 8800gt without issue.

wish BFG tech still did graphics cards, you always got a cool t-shirt with every card!

Nope, I noticed it before I even made a attempt to OC it. I also installed a after market cooler on my GPU and I's sure that means that I have voided the warranty by opening the card so I'm screwed until I upgrade my GPU. Lesson learned...

My old card did that and it turned out to be failing...

    A late entry:

I know of no issues using a single nVidia card on and AMD motherboard, or an AMD card on an Intel motherboard. (Intel seems to have pretty much driven nVidia out of the chipset market for Intel CPUs.) I haven't used an nVidia card on an AMD system lately, but I'm unaware of any general incompatibilities. I've certainly used AMD cards on Intel motherboards.

The exception was multiple graphics cards (nVidia SLI, AMD Crossfire). nVidia used to only support SLI on systems with nVidia chipsets (for either AMD or Intel CPUs). nVidia now licenses SLI for boards with Intel chipsets, and (I believe) at least one of the latest AMD chipsets. The motherboard makers have to pay a license fee; not all boards with the same chipset (like Intel X58) are guaranteed to support SLI. AMD has never done the same: Crossfire drivers will install on all sorts of boards.

BeKure's AMD system should not be a consideration in deciding whether to go with an nVidia or AMD card, as long as a single card is all that is wanted.
