Just wanted to say thanks for this. Had a program where the icon went "missing" and it bothered me to no end.
HI ,
When you will read this message , it will be too late . You are allready stuck with this ennoying "icon issue" .
As previously said in this topic , one of the solutions is to load the Windows 7 install disc , select " upgrade " and Windows does the rest . The only inconvenience is that you need to reactivate Windows after each use of the disc because the number of reactivations is limited and the moment will come that the server will not accept the key any more . In some cases , you may succeed in getting this solved
by calling Microsoft's support but otherwise you will have no other choice than buying a new key .
There is a way to prevent this : use the back up Windows 7 application and create a image of your entire system , OS included . The program also allows you to create a System Repair Disc in order to reinstall the image in case of problems like dissapeared icons or any other . Your system is put back to the day you created the image and no more activation is required .

Fanaudi .
