Random Video Problem (Screen goes black, no signal)

I recently was playing the Mario Portal game and messing with the rendering settings then all the sudden my screen went black, the video signal was lost. I restarted the computer everything was fine then again today I was using itunes screen visualizer and the video gets lost and I had to restart again. Anyone know what could be causing this? I have a 9800GTX+ by Evga and Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, 3 gigs of ram.

I just realized that my rear fan was not working, I tapped it and it started to work fine again I dont know whats up with that im gonna keep an eye on it, I have this case here... Newegg.com - RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WB Black/Silver 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case

the rear panel fan was the one that stopped owrkikng but worked again and the bigger fan below the disc drives is just dead, i should probably replace it but my temps are fine sitting at 39 degrees atm, most i get to is like 80-90 on the most intenste games adn i thiink that ws with my rear fan paused, i also added a fan in the additional spot on the motherboard side panel (right side) so i think my tmeps are fine but im still really curious about this loss of video signal ive seen alot of windows 7 probllems posted about this.

My guess is the video card getting hot, that would cause your screen to go black.
