Any "significant" differences between the ATI Radeon 6850 & 6870?

Are there any "significant" differences between the ATI Radeon 6850 and 6870 graphic cards?

I am considering purchasing the ATI Radeon 6850 graphics card. However, I am told that the 6870 is a superior card.

I would like to see a side-by-side comparison of these two cards before making a decision.

Does anyone know of a website that provides such a comparison?

Thank you.

Thanks SoSo, this is exactly the comparison chart that I was hoping to see.

Is a three-way comparison possible? I would like to compare these two cards with the ATI Radeon 6950.

Maybe this Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: February 2012 is more what you are looking for

The 6950 has a slower clock speed than the 6870, but is superior in shaders (288 more), texture units (22 more) and memory bandwidth (25.6) Video Card Comparison - GPUReview.com Sometimes the 2 gig versions of the 6950 can be unlocked into a 6970 with a BIOS update...There is some risk to this, but using a late run card with dual BIOSes can reduce the risk of "bricking" the card....I was going to link a card but they seem to be out of stock and I doubt the will return on a consistent basis

SoSo,

Thanks for staying with me on this. I have checked out the websites using the links that you have provided.

Yesterday evening I was googling and came across this

I have yet to make a decision but I am leaning towards the 6950. I have never invested this much into a graphics card which is why I am being very careful before buying, looking at professional reviews as well as that of users.

No problem.....Now the 7850 and the 7870's should be coming out in a few days, so you might want to consider that as well

You are more up-to-date than I am regarding graphic cards. I had no idea that the 7xxx's are soon to be out. I find it a challenge to be well informed regarding GPU's. The names, which are already not easy to remember, change and then change again. Sometimes the differences in new cards are subtle in one spec and significant in others making it difficult to choose between them.

The 7970, 7950, 7770 and 7750 are out now, but they are either upper end cards with the upper price to match or lower mid range cards that are weaker than any You have mentioned Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Video Cards & Video Devices, Desktop Graphics / Video Cards, Radeon HD 7000 series
