    It's discontinued.
Once they're discontinued, some of those cards fall off the face of the planet.

You can find another 6970 card, but that exact model number is going to be hard to find.
You might find a used one with that model number on Ebay.

i love sapphire, hasnt screwed me over once, i saw an msi mode llike it, but didnt get as good a review, or as high of max memory clocks, it was $30 more expensive also, it was an msi, wasnt sure if it was the best option. i liked the dual fan and increased memory and core clocks for OCing

if you are willing to take a look tell me what you think, my biggest problem is, i was gunna buy it late summer, dk if it will be around that long, for all i know they may have re continued the card i wanted, but i think its more likely they will all be gone

    here is the card
    Newegg.com - MSI R6970 Lightning Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

comparing the two cards side by side there is a bit of a difference in clocks, which isnt the end all be all, but with ati drivers, they arent helping to produce faster speeds like nvidias are, i still prefer ati despite this in my findings

I too, stick with Sapphire, but I don't use anything higher than the 6670 for my HTPC, so I'll let someone else
take it from here. Good luck!!

You don't necessarily have to be discouraged.....Watch The Egg like a hawk.....I've seen old cards make a surprise appearance......

Thorton what country /area city are you in ?

Depending on the location some retailers still will have them in stock just depends on where you are at /you can even try Mom and Pop shops they could still have it other major retailers no

you can even order from Walmart.com or Bestbuy even though there expensive as hell
