Do you have the resolution set to the native resolution of the monitor ? Can you give us the exact make and model of the monitor.

    I have 2 suggestions.

    1. Hook up another monitor, if possible to test.
    2. Uninstall your video drivers, reboot the machine and let windows install the video drivers and reboot.

Does "Advanced Settings" offer choices of different frequencies per resolution? Even though Intel recognizes the monitor, it might not have picked the right scan frequency to get the full screen. With AMD/ATI, there was an "Overscan" option that helped fill the screen.

That's an old CRT monitor, I see.

Do the XP monitor drivers install for it? Samsung doesn't seem to have them any more, but they're available from Windows Update:

    Microsoft Update Catalog

(Download the .cab, extract the files with the freeware 7Zip, and manually install them.)

    Good luck.
