Display issues 1680x1050

I installed the windows 7 nvidia drivers ( 190.62 ) and it works fine, except i cant change my resolution to 1680 x 1050 for my V7 R22W02 22inch LCD screen ! It shows up as 'Generic Non-PnP Monitor'. When i update the drivers it says that the Non-pnp drivers are up to date. The maximum i can choose is 1600x1200 wich makes it all squeezed. My monitor is plug'nplay ( !!!! ) and i cant run the drivers from the V7 website because they're 32bit.

Try to update monitor drivers via windows update...
That worked for me.

Yes I'd definitely check Windows Update for any non critical updates, or visit your monitors website and see if they have a Win7 or Vista driver available.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the nVidia display driver (and download the latest release from their website as well)

32 bit Drivers should still work under a 64bit OS. I've never had any real issue with them.

Also I noticed in your screen shot...It's set to Progressive...I'm an ATI man myself so i lack understanding of there driver set...but is there an option in that drop menu for Interlace? If so...Try that. (Under scan type...)

You might want to try changing that to 1050 and see what happens then.

Good catch. "True HD" is listed as 1920 x 1080 ["1080p"] which my monitor supports. My smaller 20" supports max 1680 x 1050.

Perhaps the poster confused the two and that's the cause of their entire issue!

Thanks for all the help im getting so far. This has still been a mystery for me. I did notice i'm using a DVI to VGA adapter, because my XFX nvidia 9600GT is DVI only and i dont have a DVI cable (yet). I tried searching for drivers on the XFX page but couldnt find any, and doubt they'll be any different from the ones nvidia offer.

As to your suggestions;
-Everything is updated by windows update
-Yes, i did notice i put up the wrong number but that was after i tried the correct resolution and i just wanted to make a screenshot real quick . So it's back to the drawing board(s) indeed.

Ill try a DVI cable.

There arent any from V7 :)
