Had I known that my one flippant pro-AMD comment, said mostly in jest, would cause a slew of nVidia fanboys to come crawling out of the woodwork; I'd have kept my keyboard closed.

Sry just kinda skimmed through and I know this post is about which GPU but off topic for a second you say your planning to get an i5 2500 I would recommend the i5 2500k there only $15-$20 more and u have the option to over clock it. Even if you have no plan to oc I would still recommend the "k" model in case you decide to try oc'ing later and on the new bios it is ridiculously easy to oc most new mobo's even have a 1 click oc if you really want an easy oc

Why not read reviews of best cards out there?

Thanks for that link, but here's one I regularly use. It's a benchmark list of all graphics cards.

Mobile Graphics Cards - Benchmark List - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Yes the name is notebookcheck, but you can select to display desktop cards as well. The thing I like about that site is each graphics card comes with links to reviews as well as models of what computers carry it, reviews of those, etc.

EVGA man. I can not over-exaggerate how happy I am with my gtx580 from them.
Might as well look at the gtx680 now obviously but yeah evga.

And if you do go ati xfx would be the first brand I'd recommend.

4 of the 5 GPUs I have owned over the years have been EVGA. 1 was xFx. I can say that I have absolutely no need to look elswhere for another GPU brand. Quality is superior, customer service is superior and they stand apart on innovation. My 3gig 580 is a dream.

For the Record My AMD drivers have not given me to much of any issue's

I always find threads on here blasting Forceware

I have ran both Brands i went to AMD because of price and just to try it My days of useing Intel were ok but i found i had more issues running my old P4 set up vs what im running now

Not everyone will have a smooth running Rig but gees AMD has been solid for me

Can't we all just get along ?
