How to completely remove AMD (ATI) Applications

I have replaced an ATI Radeon video card with an NVIDIA.

I have uninstalled the Catalyst Control Center (only thing listed in the uninstall programs). After reboot I'm still getting warning about the Catalyst Control Center not being able to start and another AMD warning.

I ran CCCleaner and removed all the AMD/ATI registry entries it found, rebooted but still getting the warning.

Short of manually editing the registry to get rid of what is left, and also removing any left over files, is there another "cleaner" program that will get rid of what is left? There is nothing in Startup. If I Right click on the desktop the Catalyst Control Center is still in the dropdown menu.

Use Driver Sweeper, it'll remove any remnants of the AMD software.

Thanks to both of you. That fixed the issues. However, I had to run driver sweeper in safe mode. The program would hang up in normal Windows.

Driver sweeper is meant to be run in very safe mode.
Well, by now you'd already be knowing it, aren't you?

To AMD official website to download the installation package,First.
The installation package can install and uninstall.

I think the package is the best uninstall tool. You can customize the unloading, base drive or other applications

    Tooldsnake,

Most of the AMD software was not in the uninstall list. The Catalyst Control Center was there but it did not uninstall everything like the AMD site says, at least in my case. The Driver Sweeper, with Windows started in Safe Mode, and then running the registry cleaner in CCleaner finally got rid of everything.

If the AMD procedure had worked, I would not have had to post the problem and ask for help.

(I'm probably older than you - I started working on computers in 1962).

Didn't happen to swap cards before uninstalling Catalyst? If so that may be why the normal uninstall failed.

Stormy, I did but that should not have prevented the Catalyst Uninstall from not uninstalling properly. I've done it before without problems - the usual way I replace video, sound, etc and I've never had a problem.

    AMD Warning after boot

    Hi,
I would like to thank you for a positive solution to the problem. I used the Driver Sweeper and all was solved. I spent quite a few hours reading peoples assumptions of what it could be & how to cure it. It was refreshing to get a positive solution. Recommended to all with same problem. I too had uninstalled AMD Catalyst and still had the message after boot. I ran registry cleaners & still there. This is only cure I found. Thx to all that contributed.
