    Connect computer to TV

I connect my laptop ,Dell Inspiron 700m, to my TV. So far the audio works and the video doesn’t work.
My cable has a male 4-pin S-video and an audio jack at one end and an RCA audio jack at the other end.

Attach the cable(s) between the PC and the TV Input.
Turn-on the TV and select the input to be used by the TV (Usually stated as Component or Video).
Right click on the PC desktop and select Screen Resolution.
In the box at the top, you should see a representation of your PC display and TV identified as 1 and 2.
If you don't see two displays, click on the Detect button to right.
If the TV isn't detected, unplug the S-Video cable from the PC and re-connect.
    Report back what you get.

What TV and model? Is it digital?
