Need advice about a new graphics card

Well I'm looking for a new graphics card I can't decide if I should get a 500 series or the new GTX 680.
My current card if a 8600GT soo really anything will be a upgrade from it.

    My system specs are
    2600k sandybridge processor
1TB HDD "planning on moving OS to a SDD later"
    16GB of corsair vengeance ram
    H80 corsair liquid cooler
    ASrock extreme 4 motherboard
    800 watts power supply

    Budget?
    PC usage?
    Future Upgrades(besides SSD)?
    How many monitors?
    What resolution?
If for gaming, what games and what graphical level and what framerate do you expect?

    Budget is around 500-600 dollars
    One monitor
    Battlefield 3, crysis 2, etc
Future upgrades would be maybe a new motherboard and processor for the up coming intel processors

If that's the case then you should definitely go with the 680 as soon as it's available. My recommendation Newegg.com - EVGA 02G-P4-2680-KR GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Another option may be (assuming your MOBO and PSU will allow it) is to get two cards and run them in SLI. The specs you've listed are pretty close to what I'm running, with the exception of the PSU.

Getting two 560ti's or 570's would give you all the gaming and performance HP you would need for a while. 560Ti's are about $220 each, 570's are running about $300 each.

I've got 2 570's and I haven't found a game yet that I can't crank the settings to max and have good FPS. Crysis 1 and 2, Skyrim, Metro 2033... all good.
