    Win7 works smoothly, then Suddenly slows down.

    Okay, so I have tried looking at plenty of other threads on various websites and nothing has been the same as my issue.
    I start up the computer and it is super fast, everything is running just how it should be things start up very quickly when I click on them. but then I start playing a game or watching Netflix. or just something along the lines of that and it works fine for about five minutes or so and then BAM! it just slows down. and not just slow but like frame by frame to the point where I can't even close the process. I tried updating my video display drivers and I even tried updating the chip-set drivers nothing works and this issue is really starting to frustrate me. The specs are listed below please let me know if you can help.

    SPECS
    Win 7 Enterprise
    64 bit
    AMD phenom X4 9650 Quad Core Processor 2.30 GHz
    8192 MB ram (8.00 GB)
    Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 9100 (up to date)
    Northbridge chipset: nForce 720a
    southbridge chipset: ID075C

    1. When did this start happening?
    2. Have you made any recent changes? Added new software, changed or added new hardware?
    3. Please post a Speccy Download Speccy 1.16.317 - FileHippo.com
    4. Please show us what programs are installed on your system.
    Please do the following;
    Click on start and type msinfo32 and press enter. This should open the “system information”
    To look at the programs installed on the computer navigate under “System summary” click on “Software environment” and later click on “program groups” now on the right pane you would see the list of programs installed on the computer. Please make sure you separate the tabs enough to see items under group name and name.
    Now you will need to highlight the entire list copy and paste it back here.
    5. Upload a screen shot from RESMON when the problem is occurring.
    Please do the following;
    In your search field, type RESMON
    Press enter. Allow RESMON to run while you perform tasks. Duplicate your problem, then go back to RESMON and maximize the CPU tab to fill the screen. After doing so, SNIP it and post back.
    6. What anti virus are you running?
    7. Please install http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free(the free one)and run a full scan on all user accounts.

    Perform the following tasks::
    • Remove unused programs
    • Install and run antispyware software
    • Free up wasted space with Disk Cleanup tool
    • Defragment your hard disk drive

    Click Start > Run, type %temp% and click OK.
    When folder is opened, delete everything in this folder as its all junk.

    NOTE:: Have you checked fans..???? may be this problem is due to overheating

    Perhaps this could not solve your issue, but I had the same sluggish system issue often, to the point that I wasn't able to close or open anything, the cursor frozen and then would move again only to freeze again.
    Just when I was about to perform a Windows repair, I try connecting the HDD to a different PSU's power connector, and that solved my issue, it has not happened anymore.
    I hope you find your solution.

    1.This started about 3 months ago and I for the most part just kept trying to ride it out and hope the problem would go away but it didn't and so now i'm here.
    2.The only recent changes was when i added a super anti spyware program to keep my computer safe but that was almost a year ago and it is obviously not the problem.

    This has never come up in any other reports but it appears that my graphics card is 105 degrees Celsius....
    I could very well see this being my problem but as far as I can tell my fans are all working properly so how would I resolve this?

    First, your GPU is running WAY too hot. Install GPUz to monitor GPU. Install this to stress it.
    Second, SAS free, is NOT an anti virus program. You need to download Microsoft Security Essentials and do a full scan. Also, you need to download Malwarebytes Free and run a full scan on all of your accounts.

    Post back your results.

    After further review your GeForce 9100 is more than likely the issue. I found thousands of posts about the very same issue by Googling "nvidia geforce 9100 overheating slowing computer". You should still do the other steps I have outlined for you, as they are necessary. But I am almost certain that your issue is the GeForce 9100. Is this an HP laptop or Desktop? What model?

    I can't seem to find that model, are you sure it's a p61423 Desktop? Can you give me the SKU# off the sticker on the case?
