dual screen display issue x64

hi

i'm running a vaio vgn nr21s/s (nvidia 8400MGT) with a samsung syncmaster 226bw ( 22') connected by a vga connector and i cant have my max resolution (1680/1050@60htz) in win7 x64

i tried a dozens of drivers, the new and the old ones (laptopvideo2go, dox moddified...) for win7 x64 and for vista x64... and still the same problem, still stuck at 1600/1024

i thought it could be the vga connector but im running xp pro 32bits too and theres no problem with that i can get the right resolution

if anyone has an idea i'll be grateful

cya thx

stockhomer;

Please allow me to be the first to welcome you to Windows Seven Forums! Your contributions are appreciated.

Thanks for posting back with the solution you found. That allows others with similar issues to search for and find solutions to try.

Actually, I am not surprised with a refresh rate of 59Hz with a resolution of 1680X1050. Are there any unwanted side effects with that refresh rate?

Cheers!
