Windows 7- Cant play downloaded games with standard vga graphics adapt

I've been having alot of trouble looking for solutions to update my standaard vga graphics adapter and cant find any. Ive been looking for hours and some of the solutions i found said to uninstall it. Im not sure if my computer could b harmed by uninstalling it but are there any solutions to update it? Ive been trying to play several games every few months when im bored but they end up not working so i delete them. But now ive been told that the problem was my driver and i still havnt found any solutions. Please help if possible.

I am guessing that your computer is incompatible with Windows 7 after checking the HP driver site.

It would appear that Windows 2000 is the latest operating system that can be used on it.

I would suggest you download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which will flag up any hardware issues.

Assuming you have automatic updates on, removing it actually should force the system to check online for a more recent device.
This may however backfire.
If the system can't find a driver it likes for it, you'll be stuck with the standard vga controller.
...that's sounds like it is the case.

however, if the dxdiagnostic report is accurate, this is the driver you need.
It's the most recent one available.

According to this the 865 is on the win7 supported list.

To be perfectly honest, the graphics you have will not meet the minimum requirements for pretty much any game. On the market now.
The average smartphone has more graphics horsepower.

I hate to break it down that way. It is sadly for the most part just how it is though.

...well that's not entirely true it can handle side scrollers probably. (smartphone type games)
