    Hoping Someone Can Help

The last couple of days my screen goes black for a couple of seconds then back on again as though nothing has happened. It seems to be getting more frequent and especially when browsing. I have an NVIDIA 295 GTX with latest drivers. I have uninstalled the drivers and re-installed with no difference also rolled the drivers back to previous versions with same problem. I have also noticed that my benchmarks have gone right down again since re-installing the drivers. I am not so worried about the benchmarks but the screen going black is getting very annoying

Two things you can do to check the video driver. first go into device manager (type device in search) go to the display section and make sure your driver is installed and working (no yellow triangle on it). Second you can go into event viewer (type event viewer in search) and go to the windows log>app tab. Look for anything related to the current problem

When I read your post, I knew from experience what you meant. I had that problem on my Samsung. So I checked your specs - Samsung.

My problem disappeared when I upgraded my video drivers from the MS default to ATI. Yes, I know this doesn't really help you - but -

Samsung replaced the I/O board on an earlier model that I had about 20 months ago to fix the the same problem when it existed for not only XP, but also with my satelleite set-top box and DVD player.

    Paging z3r010 - come in z3r010....

Quite a few folks have experienced issues with Sammys having board issues. If you're sure you are not stressing your PSU, then follow Antman's advice and check out your monitor.

(I was paging the admin b/c *he* had major issues with a pair of Sammys).

Thanks everyone. I have been away so not been able to get back to this post. Problem solved it was a loose connection to the monitor.

Amazing breakthrough in computer technology. Plug it in and it works!

Actually, a valid and time-saving tip I used to give to dialer techs (if anyone here remembers Feature Group dialup) - "You need dial tone first. Then, troubleshoot."
