Choosing a new graphics card

Hi, I'm gonna update my wives graphics card so that she can run Windows 7. Is this a good card for an older desktop? Evga 01G-P3-1521-KR- GeForce GT 520 (Fermi) 1GB 64bit ddr3. Thanks for any help making up my mind . She's not a gamer but I want a decent card. Frank

Other than that the 520 is DirectX 11 and lower power requirements, it has nothing else over the 9600 GT and in fact is a step backwards,

You would be replacing what was a mid-range card with what is for all intents and purposes a low end card, albeit current gen.

If not for gaming, what is wrong with your current card? It still has full/current Windows 7 support from Nvidia for drivers.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. The computer only has onboard graphics now. Just want a good enough card to put in it that she can run Windows 7. Thanks for the response. Frank

Integrated graphics can already support windows 7 if you want better graphics on your computer or video editing or watching or even minimal gaming get somthing along the lines of a 540 or somthing not to expensive but works all right
