Windows doesn't load after installing ati drivers.

Hi,
I'm having a problem with catalyst drivers. I installed Windows 7 32-bit yesterday and everything was working fine until I installed catalyst control center, which now causes the system to stay stuck on the blue windows wallpaper without explorer or mouse cursor. I can get to safe mode and perform a system recovery, then I can boot normally. I also tried multiple versions of drivers, but it always does the same thing. Im using Radeon HD5770, Gigabyte P43T-ES3G Mobo, Intel Core2Quad 2,5 GHz (not sure about the exact model number) and 4 GB Ram. Everything worked fine before reinstalling windows and my system specs are exactly the same as they were before. Any ideas? Thanks.

It could be a dead or faulty graphics card. Is the card correctly installed and all the cables attached including any extra power cables?

My guess would be that you have the wrong version of the CCC.

I checked the cables and they are all in place. I don't think it's the gpu, it worked perfectly fine before the reinstall, so it seems unlikely that it would stop working over that one hour that it took to install Windows...

This is probably not the case either, i tried all kinds of CCC and I also tried that program from AMD that detects the correct version and applies it. They all did the same thing.

Try downloading and installing Driver Sweeper, boot into safe mode, run Driver sweeper, check only the AMD display drivers, click analyze, then clean. Reboot, then install the proper drivers for your card and OS. Amd usually has 2 drivers for each card. One is for a single card and one is for crossfire. Be sure you select the right one for your operating system. Try that and see if you get better results.

Upon a reinstall of OS, if you select recommended....read the small print... it will download drivers automatically (what windows thinks you need or windows version of the driver). Just select the option to do it at a later date. Then once the OS install is complete then manually download all your drivers. I've had the same problem and this seems to work for me.
