    Can't whatch 1080p movies

    Hi, lately I have this problem with full HD movies.When I watch them it has these intermittent stops and pixalations specialy if the frame has lots of details and light.I use VLC player 2.1, freshly installed , I have ati radeon hd 4500 with 512ram.Maybe I should mention that I never had this problem before.Thanks in advance.

    Hello mobius101, please fill up the rest of your system specs using this tutorial:-

    System Info - See Your System Specs

    Have you tried playing the video on an alternative media player like Media Player Classic HC to see whether the problems occur?

    :: MPC-HC ::

    You also mention that you're using VLC 2.1 which is a nightly version (beta) and not the latest stable version which is VLC 2.0.2.

    VideoLAN - Download official VLC media player for Windows

    Try switching back to the latest stable version and see whether that rectifies your issue.

    Hope that helps.

    Hmm the next thing I'd suggest is to update your graphic card drivers to the latest ones from AMD:-

    A way to check your graphics card performance?

    For a good overall benchmark of gaming performance, try 3dmark06 and 3dmark Vantage

    Futuremark - world's most popular benchmarks and PC performance tests - Benchmarks - 3DMark06 - Introduction DX9 Performance

    3DMark Vantage for DirectX 10 video card benchmark tests DX10 Performance

    Another good and free one is Unigine Heaven:-

    Heaven DX11 Benchmark | Unigine: real-time 3D engine (game, simulation, visualization and VR)

    Your card isn't that powerful, and these benchmarks will push your card to the limit, so don't be surprised if the benchmarks take a while to finish.
