I'd just go to newegg and look at the desktop graphics cards, apply an agp filter, and find a cheap one with good reviews that will handle whatever graphics needs your parents require.

    Slim pickins:

Newegg.ca - Computer Hardware, Video Cards & Video Devices, Desktop Graphics Cards, AGP 4X/8X, DirectX 10, DirectX 10.1, DirectX 11

(I limited the search to DX 10, 10.1, and 11, to weed out the older cards.)

The 4600ti was a great card... 10 years ago. What sort of drivers are you using for it? nVidia's support ended with XP for that series.

    I see that they're using a Socket 754 motherboard (vintage 2003).

Maybe you should just blow the dust out of the 4600 with some canned air, and see if its health is restored.

I question the wisdom of buying any upgrades at all for a system that old. Regardless, due to obsolescence, AGP graphic cards tend to be priced higher than their PCI-E versions.

Nah the ti is garbage, over heats and shuts down pc. And yes it is clean... I know how to take care of my pc's. And newegg is very limited, they have one that looked alright but again don't feel like paying over $75. Anyways still lolling for card ideas, also needs dvi maybe hdmi port as well. The ati hd 3450 and 4350 cards are nice but rare to find.

Do you just want AMD GPU's or just graphic cards in general?

closes video card I can find on newegg that is under 70$ and has dvi.Anyways you only willing to buy from newegg or you want to shop some were else because newegg don't have too much for the older cards. There's this card at amazon http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-S...agp+video+card
And this card at NCIX EVGA E-GEFORCE 6200LE AGP 512MB DDR2 VGA DVI-I TV Out Video Card - eVGA - 512-A8-N403-LR

    This one at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814139053

I used to be a big fan of nvidea but totally an ati person now seing how amd owns ati. War better cards then what used to be available.
