    Help enable display adapter win7 ultimate


    Hi all.I accidentally disabled my onboard display adapter and after rebooting, the screen goes black but windows continues to load in the background.Can someone kinldy post a step by step guide for re enabling the adapter for windows 7 ultimate using a Keyboard.Thanx.

    If you disabled it in the BIOS, reset the BIOS to defaults with the motherboard jumper. If you disabled it in Windows, try hitting the F8 key during boot up. You might get lucky and get a screen to select safe mode of VGA mode.

    I tried reseting Bios settings didnt help,safe mode does'nt load,even vga mode.If someone can post a step by step guide to enable me use a keyboad i know it can help.Seen some steps posted somewhere for how it can be done with windowsXP.

    If you added a display adapter you should remove it and then try changing the setting in the BIOS to use the onboard adapter. If you have never added an adapter, I would suggest setting the BIOS to default values as suggested by alphanumeric. (Which you state you have already tried).

    What you are asking is a pretty tall order. Device Manager varies from PC to PC depending on the hardware installed. Also you would have to do it all using the tab key etc. That varies depending on what view settings a folder is set to. God knows where you might end up. Can you borrow a video card from another system temporarily so you can go back in and enable the onboard.

    EDIT: You could try this. Repair Install
