    Dual monitor problems

    Hello all!

I have a big problem in connection with dual monitors. The other day I found a "Samsung SyncMaster 152t" around the house. I decided to connect it to my comp next to the already used "Samsung SyncMaster 913n". I tested both alone, and both worked perfectly. Then I bought an adapter as my Video Card ( ATI Radeon HD4600) has only 1 DVI and 2 displayPort outputs. The 913n was already on the DVI so I tried to connect the 152t through its VGA cable with a VGA-DVI port and then this newly-bought DVI-dP and then joined it into the port on the Video Card. And then I was praying..... but nothing happened.

The monitors worked perfectly when connected to the original DVI port on my Video Card. However, the system can't detect it at the "Screen Resolution" menu. Both adapters are brand new so I guess it is something with the Video Card or somekind of software problems.

The comp also can't recognise the monitor connected via the adapters, but the monitor knows it is connected. When it isn't, it displays "No Signal", when I plug in the cable, its light simly starts blinking green.

My question is that is my Video Card unable to handle 2 monitors or I lack of some softwares which enable me to dual-monitor.

I really appreciate you spent your time on reading

Waiting for your advices and solutions.
    Thanks,

You have too many adapters and they are not the right ones.
You need a display port to VGA adaptor.
You can't use the ones you bought since display port to dvi is only digital, so the dvi to VGA adaptor won't work.

This one is for mini display port to VGA

And this one is for display port to VGA ,

Or it's possible you haven't set up your monitors correctly - the new monitor you're trying to connect to may not be set to recognize the input soure (Example: A monitor cofigured to recognize DVI input only will not work if you plug in a VGA cable). Since I'm mot too familiar with your monitors, you could try gettig the correct cables or you can ask your monitor manufacturer...

Thank you very much. The problem was solved, because as you said it was the adapter which cut the analog signal, so I bought a simple cable which perfectly works. Thanks again for your advices, they worked very well
