various sudden fps drops related to dwm.exe with new HD5450
not long ago I bought a new ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card.
I'm running Windows 7 x64 and after downloading the appropriate drivers from ATI, I noticed that once every few hours my Windows becomes slow - FPS wise.
everything is sluggish. it's like I'm running 10 FPS instead of the usual fluidity.
I immediately suspected the drivers so I uninstalled and reinstalled using the drivers supplied in the box of the new GPU. it didn't help.
I started eliminating processes to see which is responsible, and when I ended dwm.exe it flashed the classic theme (no aero) for a second and back again and the lag was gone, I was back to fluidity.
the problem is - it happens every few hours so that's not a proper solution.
it didn't happen with my previous nVIDIA 8500GT, started only after switching to the new HD5450.
I tried searching but couldn't find anything related to my problem..
anyone got an idea?
