Dedicated Graphics Memory
Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 7750G-6662. It has switchable graphics with Intel Graphics as well as AMD Radeon 6650M 2GB VRAM.
I've already solved my first obstacle, which was how to set my laptop to only run the Radeon Graphics.
However, my new problem is that I am not sure if it is performing at it's max capacity. After some research on the internet, I came across the program called GPU-Z to monitor my memory usage.
In the "Memory Usage Dedicated" section, it states that the highest number it achieved while I was running a game (Arma 2), was 560mbs.
This seems to be far below the 2GBS of VRAM that my graphics card is stated to have.
Some additional information on this is:
I originally figured out how to set my dedicated card as my main graphics through a method posted in this thread that I found on the sevenforums website:
Acer Laptop: Switchable Graphics using i7 & AMD Radeon
Refer to post #131
Also, browsing through the thread, on page 27, post #263, another user appears to have a similar problem that I am experiencing. He later states that he figured out how to rectify the problem, but did not post the solution.
My system specs are:
Acer Aspire 7750G-6662
Intel Core i5-2430M
Switchable Graphics: Intel and AMD Radeon 6650M 2GB VRAM
4GB DDR3 MEMORY
640GB HDD
So my question is, is this normal to only be maxing out at 560mbs?
I'm new to dealing with graphics cards, so any help is appreciated!
If any additional information is required, feel free to ask.
Thank you.
