Graphics Card shutting on and off

Hey I just added all new stuff in my computer and I can't play any games without it freezing and turning off. Sometimes it will it will say the graphics card restored itself but after maybe 10 minutes it freezes and then I have to restart my computer. I don't know what is wrong, I ran a stress test and everything worked perfectly I also uninstalled and re-installed all my drivers and that didn't help either. I'm not that computer savy so I hope i'm not doing something stupid but this is really pissing me off so if someone could me advise that would be great.

PTBK, Welcome to SF. You've come to the right place. Can I have you fill out the rest of your spec's, especially the power supply make and model.

I was hoping you would post some weak PSU but clearly that's not the case. Is this a 7700, 7750 or 7770 model and who makes it? Does this GPU have dual power plugs and are they both firmly seated in the card and to the PSU?

Its a Radeon HD 7770 and it seems pretty stable. Both the graphics card and the processor are in the motherboard nice and snug.

Try rolling the drivers back to a previous version and see if the instability still occurs?

I know what the problem is. I have the exact same problem on the exact same card. well i HAD the problem.

You need to overclock the 2D speeds:

    Step 1

Open AMD Vision Control Center (Advanced View).
    Presets.
    Add Preset.

    Step 2

Enter a profile name in the field.
Tick "Save" then close. Do not activate the profile yet.

    Step 3

Now you will need to make sure you can view hidden folders on your system by going to the Control
Panel-->Folder Options-->View tab and select "Show hidden files, folders and drives." Close.

Go to your "My Documents" folder and open the AppData folder. From there open the Local folder->ATi->ACE then right click the Profiles document (Not the folder yet) and tick edit.
Highlight everything and tick Copy. Close.
Now open the Profiles folder then right click and tick edit on the profile (that you named earlier). Delete the entries in there, then paste in what you copied just earlier.

From there you change the two values below. As I indicate in the picture I'm using CrossFire so I have two entries to change. Input the 2D clocks you want, then Save.
Save it then right click the CCC icon and activate your profile
    .

    Happy to help

What 2D speeds did you set? Too much and the taskbar sometimes flickers. 400 core 600 mem is fine for me!

Also underneath the 2d speeds the value might say 1 instead of zero. these are your 3D speeds and you must avoid changing them without using CCC!

    Glad your problem is solved!
