No, CCC is not necessary at all for the a working driver. Version of Win 7 does not matter.

What happens with this black screen? If you leave your pc alone for say 5 minutes, is it still there? Only a black screen? Do you hear anything upon bootup like the Windows start sound? Do you have any HDMI connected to the card? Remove it if so and even remove a 2nd monitor if you have that.

It seems to me from here that the driver and monitor are working correct. Something else is throwing it off. On this black screen, does Win+P do anything good for you?

ok i install. then i let it reboot itself. gets to the opening windows flag then when it gts ready to physically load windows the screen goes black for a few seconds then shuts my system completely down. i've been working on pcs for years and have never saw something like this happen. i really dont know what else to do

The only thing that comes to mind is to check your power supply. 400 watts may be too weak for your system running with full graphics (i.e. driver loaded and running.) Does your card have 1 or 2 connecters for power? If two, make sure each is on its own rail.

Do you have a better psu to try? I dunno I get along well on 350W here but still.

Also have a look at your CPU to AGP controller in device manager under system devices. See if you can use a driver from your motherboard manufacturer's website for that.

i ave a real nice 650watt psu. i'm sorta wondering if it isn't something that i have set up in device manager wrong. or maybe i'm getting the .inf file matched up with the wrong hotfix combo. maybe try linking it again. this all worked fine on vista so i couldnt see too big of a difference

wait... before you did all of this work did you happen to disable device signing in administrative mode? i think that there could be a big possibility that i'm having this problem because win7 will not alow me to load this driver because it is not properly signed. i'm going to attempt to disable that feature with the cmd.exe. and ill let you know how that turns out for me

    Hi Thulsadoom.

First, you will need to see this and follow advice in the last paragraph about the command prompt.

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/Disab...ta-53491.shtml

Then, you should download the Catalyst x64 9.10 Suite from game.amd.com

I don't run x64 and do not have this driver so you will have to edit the .inf.

Run the setup.exe you download and let it extract to C:\ATI

Find the 2 .inf files and tell me the names of them. I will tell you which one to edit and how, then what to do next. If you can't find them, go to C:\ATI and in top right search box, type *.inf.
