Anybody know a reasonably costing graphics card for upgrading?

    Hi,

I have the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family Graphics card. I want to upgrade it since I'll most likely starting my gaming business off of it. And since I am not rich, does anyone know a good graphics/video card I can buy, reasonable in price and good on my computer?

    Regards,

How much do you want to spend?
The gtx 550 ti is about $120 and is powerful enough to run most modern games on high.

I don't want to go over 150-200. 120 Sounds easy to save for..I guess. Anything a bit cheaper? I am expected to get paid 50 dollars and some other money for chores but idk how much that will be.

You could also get a 6770 which is 99.99$ usd. Though it's slower then the 550ti,you would benfit more the 550ti though and just spend a couple bucks more. Though the 6770 should be able to play games good at medium on 1080p on games at 30-35fps but can probably play high with higher fps if you lower the resolution and aa.The 6770 is a good card though and it should have close performance to a 550ti but the 550ti does beat it by a bit. Also just to point this out, sure you know already but get a good power supply with it if you haven't yet,at least 400watts but i would recommend getting at least 500w so the card and system have extra power and it have enough power without any issues. Anyways if you want to save a couple bucks then you can get a 6770.

    GeForce GTS 450 (GGDR5 edition).
You can find it at 110$ or less... I have it and I can say it's a very good mid-range card.

Silent, very overclockable, 3D vision capable, and fast! I run heavy games reaching 60fps at ultra settings @1600x900 (Skyrim, Assassin's Creed 1 and 2, Bioshock 2 and others)
It is a bit slower than the HD 6770 and the GTX 550 Ti, but if you overclock it well you can reach the GTX 460 performance.

Compared to other graphics cards, it perform like the HD 5770 (sometimes reach the HD 5830 performance).

I have the PNY XLR8 version, which have 5 Year Warranty

Did everyone forget to check his system specs? Is this for a desktop or the HP laptop listed in your specs?

If it is the laptop then you can pretty much forget about upgrading.
