CRT display issues using svideo (driver issue?)
I have a pc hooked up to my old CRT TV (I know, should get a flatscreen, but the CRT works for us). This weekend I reinstalled Windows 7, and now I can't get a picture on the TV. I connect to the TV using the SVideo port on a Radeon 4670 video card. Before the reinstall the picture showed up on the TV fine.
I get a perfectly fine image when the PC is booting up, all the way through the flying dots windows logo. At that point, the screen goes black. When I connect up a different monitor, everything works fine. To my limited knowledge, it sounds like a driver issue. Windows defaulted to the Generic non-Pnp monitor. I've tried switching to Generic TV, but to no avail.
Here's the weird part: the display works fine when I boot into safemode (but not in low-resolution mode). Since its a CRT, the resolution in safemode is fine. Is there some way I could force Windows to use the safemode driver in regular mode? I think that would take care of the issue.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
