Problems with GeForce GTX 680M - BSOD
I got my new laptop this friday. And when I got it it all seemed to work fine. So I downloaded, installed and set it up like I wanted. I started to notice that there was no nVidia Control Panel present, only some Intel Graphics stuff, and apparently this system got Intel graphics card for power-saving performances, and nvidia one for high performances(naturally). And so I read the manual alittle about this, and they told me there that there was supposed to be a nVidia Control Panel if the drivers were installed. And so I went to Multicom(explaination below what they are) and downloaded the drivers, which seems to be in two parts, one for Intel_nVidia and one for GTX680M.
The Intel nVidia one installs Intel drivers, which seems to be older then the ones that Windows Update has for me. and the nVidia ones there are 295.62 and 295.93, both refuse to install due to the fact that it cannot find the hardware required.
And the nVidia GTX680M one is the 302.71 drivers, and these will detect it and install "correctly". So I get the nVidia Control Panel but it all crashes(BSOD with nvlsddmkm.sys) on the "Adjust image setting with preview" option. Also it takes awhile to open the Control panel. And the system runs abit slowly while it's loading the control panel. And so I have tried alot to get to working, but either way it gives me the BSOD on the preview. But I did manage to modify and get the 304.48 drivers working, and it won't give a BSOD at the preview, but rather when I try to use DX11. I ran WoW fine.. But it seems to be using the Intel graphics card rather than the nVidia one. And I have no idea on how to switch them, no information on that whatsoever.
And when I got the machine, before installing nVidia drivers Device manager had a yellow exclamation mark saying it was "Standard VGA Display" that wasn't "started". Now, with the drivers installed(304.48) it states it correctly with no exclamation mark. But again, don't seem to work that well..
I downloaded and tested the OCCT tool from this forum to see. And the card is supporting CUDA, but it's not letting me do the memtest or see the temperatures. And I tried the GPU test for a couple of minutes and it didn't list any errors. The CUDA toolkit must not be downloaded and installed for it to work, or does it?
And I really need help doing this. The machine I got is the Kushan P150E from Multicom, a norwegian company that builds laptops from the bottom on each order. I plan to contact them on Monday.
