Windows Resolution always switching on startup, graphics card updated

I recently brought a new monitor and graphics card to spruce up my desktop.
The monitor went from a 1024x600 to a 1600x900 screen.
The graphics card I installed onto the computer was a NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS. (The computer came with a poorer-in-comparison Intel Chipset.)

I plugged the monitor in and everything was amazing, even when starting up. But now a few weeks later, every time start up the resolution goes down to 1024x600. I can adjust this back to 1600x900 by left-clicking to the resolution setting. I've seen other threads to update drivers but I know my graphics card driver is updated.

I really don't want reorganize all my icons every time I startup.
